If you want to pick up a crafting profession then drop the one you won't need when you get to a really high level and start gathering or buying stuff in the AH. Gather resources and sell them in the AH. This may sound simple, but believe me it takes time and sometimes at low levels doesn't really seem to be worth the time involved to keep your gathering up. However, Moonsilver Sand made from 2 ore is selling for me at the moment for g each or per ore.

That means, with a 5 second cast which it takes to gather once from a resource node , I make g, and with an average of 4 ore per node, that is per node and that is just one of the many types of resources you can gather.

I have made a planting guide. Even at level 1 you will make money, not much, but at higher levels you can make millions every week. Please refer to that guide. You can do this, but it is a free to play game and I try to make guides to keep it that way, but it is an easy way to make gold. Buy Gold from a gold seller.
